It’s been a hot one since i’ve posted. Work has very busy. Six day 10-11 hour shifts. I put in for a request for a week off for my birthday weekend. I wasn’t even sure if i was going to get the whole week off, because of the weird scheduling system. I got Friday and Saturday off. But had to wait until Saturday evening to find out when the next time i had to go back to work.

I was unable to pick my cousins Julius and Allen up from the airport cause i was working. But as soon as i got out from work, i took them up to visit my sis up in Mira Mesa so they can see both nephews. We were all hungry and i suggested sushi. My sis took us to a all you can eat sushi joint up in Rancho Bernardo (RB Sushi).

My cousins and i were having a conversation when the food got dropped off. Our reaction to a conversation killer. You know that sound when the record skips across a vinyl record?? That awkward silence and we stop talking and completely forget what we were talking about. Haha!Dropped by El Dorado to meet up with Sal and Nay. My cousins tried their first moscow mule. I wanted to take them to U-31, but the line was long as hell. So i ended taking them to True North for a change of scenery.

I let my cousins sleep in and then took them to Fashion Valley for some window shopping. I had received a free birthday drink from bux, and decided to use it. I got a nutella in a venti. As i pick up my order, i can see mixed reactions on folks faces from either the description of what’s in it and maybe, the size of the coffee. If you don’t know, there’s a secret bux menu that i found floating around on tumblr. If you didn’t know, do your homework and dig!

I have been playing a lot of things by ear. I didn’t have anything planned for the night, and my brother Ronnel says that my God-brother Aide has an event at Bar Fly in La Jolla. We decide to hit up this new spot.

During the night my God-brother tells me that there’s a pool party at the Hard Rock, called Intervention. Lil Jon was the headliner for the event. Pool party & Lil Jon? Hell Yeahh!!

I had to take the cousins to get some carne asada fries. When in SD, you have to get some. I strongly recommend Lolita’s.

While getting ready and waiting on the tickets to get dropped off, i noticed two labels at the bottom of my Sabotage custom box.

In retrospect, Lil Jon found my instagram post of the above pic and liked it. I was stoked! The doors opened at noon. It was dead at first, but it soon filled up. The backside was the pool area(not pictured). To describe Intervention, is like Disneyland & Vegas, on a San DIego rooftop with good vibes and music. 

Drinks were given out to the folks up in the front, and sprayed as well as part of his set.

There was way too much to soak in from that entire six hour party. We were so exhausted we weren’t able to celebrate at night.

5/27 My actual birthday

The cousins were knocked and i didn’t want to disturb their beauty sleep, so i went to mass alone. I wore my second pair from craigslist and held up fine the whole morning until i went to get my bux fix. I dropped it low to snap a pic for instagram, and noticed white stuff. Crumbling, chipping, and crumbling on 99s are inevitable. It’s all good though. Come the black Friday release, i’ll be getting a pair to get these joints sole swapped. But RIP for now.

Got the cousins, picked up hawaiian food and proceeded to my sisters pad. This was much needed QT with the family. Everyone is busy working and it’s been a while since we all get together.

I had planned my birthday night ahead of time, not even knowing if work was going to be giving me the time off. I’m thankful i was given it off. 

“Wait! Let me take a picture!!”

Wet Willies is known for their frozen alcoholic daiquiris. They had beers and select liquor. Don’t get it twisted and think they’re not strong. Cause a few of these, and you’ll be bent(lingo for faded). I picked a spot that didn’t require a dress code. Cause i strongly dislike wearing dress shoes. I mean i will for a special occasion. But i told my folks that sneakers were my only request.

My friend Do wanted to get me a drink. We get to the bar and he says let’s get something strong. I ask the bartender what their strongest drink was. She said the far right three flavors together were a train. And if you add sex on the beach with it, you get sex on a train. Mind you the alc is strong, it’s masked by the sugar.

We stop by my sisters to pick her up to see my OG before she heads back to the PI. My brother in law puts this hat on my nephew Aiden. I tell him to stay still. But he was pointing at his fake bleached tips. Haha!

My happy family

My OG’s name is Juana. She’s 88 right now, and i promised that i’ll go back home to celebrate her 90th birthday. She told me to come and visit her then. I’m a man of my word G-ma, i’ll be there! I was so happy that she came right after Christmas last year and waited until after my birthday to head back.

Here’s my second nephew Kamren. 

Memoral day was gorgeous outside. I decide to take the cousins on a cruise from Del Mar, Torrey Pines, and we end up in La Jolla.

Took them to my secret spot. And decided to treat them to Cups in La Jolla. They’re organic for the those who are vegan or are watching what they eat.

Took the cupcakes to go and ate them on top of Mt. Soledad. A very appropriate way to celebrate Memorial Day. It’s not just a cross on top of a mountain, but a memorial as well.

 On the cousins last day I give Julius a pair of Roshe runs as an early birthday present. He doesn’t know it yet, but he’s going to love them.

Took them down to the Las Americas outlet in San Ysidro. If you haven’t been to the Nike outlet lately, they’ve remodeled. This was probably the best shoe in the store below

Instagramming, you know!

Treated them for their last meal at Great Steak. They also added a few new items to their menu. I had half of the corned beef ruben, and the works cheese steak. I normally get the cheese steak, but would recommend the corned beef ruben.

I hope you all enjoyed the pics. The vacation, birthday, memorial weekend was a blast.
